**Caleres Appoints Its First Chief Design Officer**
**St. Louis, Mo.** – Caleres, Inc. (NYSE: CAL), a diverse portfolio of global footwear brands, announced today the appointment of Chris Egan as Chief Design Officer, effective July 26, 2023.
As Chief Design Officer, Egan will lead the creative vision and direction for Caleres’s portfolio of global footwear brands, including Famous Footwear, Sam Edelman, Naturalizer, Allen Edmonds, Dr. Scholl’s Shoes, and Vionic. He will report to Jay Schmidt, Caleres Chief Executive Officer, and be based in New York City.
“Chris is a highly respected and accomplished design leader with a deep understanding of the footwear industry and a proven track record of success in creating innovative, fashion-forward products,” said Schmidt. “His appointment is a testament to our commitment to investing in talent and driving growth through design.”
Egan joins Caleres from Skechers, where he served as Senior Vice President of Global Product, leading the design and development of Skechers’ extensive footwear, apparel, and accessories collections. Prior to Skechers, he spent 15 years at Nike, Inc., where he held various design leadership roles, including Vice President of Global Footwear Design for the Jordan Brand and Vice President of Footwear Design for Nike Sportswear.

Egan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Design from the University of Cincinnati and is a member of the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America (FDRA) Design Council.
